Everything & Nothing At All
Mimosa Variations

More Mimosa Please

Who doesn’t love a good Mimosa? My Mimosa love affair goes way back. These bubbly fruity drinks are so light and refreshing I could drink them all day. And, because it is totally acceptable to drink them in the A.M., sometimes I do. There are dozens of Mimosa variations, making it simple to pair one with whatever brunch foods you choose. In my article, I Love Brunch & I’ll Tell You Why, I have links to some of my favorite brunch foods and fun ideas you can use the next time you serve brunch. This list of Mimosa recipes includes some of my top choices but is in no way complete.

Find Your Favorite Mimosa

Finding new Mimosa mixtures is fun, and it’s easy to do. Just make sure to add Champagne or a sparkling wine, then add any type of juice you like. You can add fruits, veggies or herbs. A sprig of fresh sage, lavender or rosemary can add an earthy note to your mimosa. Also, try adding syrups or liqueurs. If you want to kick your drinks up a notch add in some Cointreau or Grand Marnier. I like to add a splash of elderflower liqueur to my mimosa. It gives a very subtle yet noticeable touch and adding a bit of Grenadine will give your mimosa a lovely “sunrise” effect. You really can’t go wrong!

Classics Never Go Out Of Style

Mimosa are traditionally served in champagne flutes, which helps keep the bubbles. You can use the classic stemmed glasses, or opt for stemless. If you don’t have any champagne flutes, any glass with a narrow opening will work well. I usually end up using white wine glasses because it is what I have the most of. Pop them in the freezer for 10 minutes before serving so that the glasses are nice and chilled.

Traditional Mimosa

The traditional Mimosa has only 2 ingredients, dry or semi-dry Champagne or sparkling wine and orange juice. The dry helps balance out the sweetness of the orange juice. I would recommend using 100% orange juice. Avoid anything from concentrate. I always juice my own because the taste is so good! If you prefer a smooth clean top to your mimosa then use pulp-free orange juice. La Croix works great if you need a non-alcoholic version.
