IN THEORY…

I find theory fascinating and helpful. A theory is like a precedent; both set an expectation for approaching a situation. For a very long time, I have been interested in human behavior and what shapes personalities regarding why people talk, think, and act the way they do.

Human behavior is a complex issue with many variables and unknowns. Using theory, I have access to thoughts and claims made by people more brilliant than I am. I feel honored to read these theories and conclusions made by intellectuals and professionals who have spent months, or even years researching a subject.

Thanks to their hard work, I better understand the relationship between human emotions and how we act/react to different circumstances. This interest in human behavior benefits me in advertising, marketing, and market research.

Even without a vocational use, I find it helpful in my relationships. I rarely take people’s behavior personally, and I am quick to suggest talking about a situation rather than assuming the worst.

We are all in this world together, but many people feel alone and misunderstood. Theory helps me understand, and in return, I am a better friend, daughter, and member of society.
